There's so much going on when you're pregnant, right? It's a whole pool of emotions, never felt before - swimming around all at the same time.
At the top of the list has to be feeling self-conscious about what your body has transformed into. Who knew it could stretch and reshape itself like it has? And what's happened to your hair? Raging hormones can be blamed for much of the hair loss you're seeing. Researchers describe it like this:
During pregnancy, an increased number of hairs go into their resting phase, which is part of the normal hair loss cycle. The increase in hormones during pregnancy prevents hair loss, but when hormones go back to normal levels after delivery, your hair may fall out in order to return to its regular cycle. Make sense? So some women may have a bunch of their hair fall out all at once, but it is not serious enough to cause permanent hair loss or bald spots. However, if you experience unusual hair loss while you are pregnant, this may be due to a vitamin or mineral deficiency.

8. Avoid stress. Having a new baby to take care of can create more stress in your life, but try to avoid additional stressful situations or feelings. Stress can cause your hair to fall out or decrease in thickness. Avoid stress to increase your chances of retaining more of your pre-pregnancy hair.
