Every week I vow to stop watching the news. Every story the media brings us is doom, gloom, pictures of the sickest individuals in society and.....oh yeah - about cheaters. How many times this year has some supposed prominent figure been exposed for lewd photos, steamy text messages or some other erratic behavior...and been married!
What really gets me, is that all the men that have gotten caught... all lie about their extra-marital activities. Why is that? What's wrong with doing wrong and then telling the truth? Do you develop more credibility by lying and then coming clean?? I don't think so.
Seems that most of the folks that have surfaced as cheaters recently have been elected officials poised to decide morally. ethically and legislatively what's best for the people they serve. Now isn't that a crock of crap.
This weeks scandal exploded for NY Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner's who claimed that someone hacked into his Twitter account and posted risque photos of him. He went as far as to demean the media who questioned him about this "oops" event. Today he announced that he posted pictures of his "elected member" on Twitter himself.
According to some sources, an estimated 50% of women cheat on their husbands and 70% of men cheat on their wives. Why get married, people??? Does "faithfulness" only apply to a relationship with your Higher Power? Can't get a thrill legally? Why is is still more acceptable for men to cheat and considered an almost felony flogging offense if a woman cheats. It's all bad. I guess I just don't get it.
Are cheaters sorry they cheated or just sorry they got caught? What's your take?
