I'm always looking for a quick, get-fit-now scheme that doesn't require me to etch out extra time on my daily calendar. Well, according to the great Dr. Oz (we love him!), there are a few foods that can help boost your metabolism, give you more energy, burn more fat and help you become more fit. More fit means....more fab! We're all about the "simple fab" here at Neero & Ana. Count me in!
Out of the 8 foods recommended, 4 of them are loaded with fiber...the stuff that fills you up and sticks to your stomach longer. The end result is you stay fuller longer and aren't hungry an hour after you eat.
The other four, according to Dr. Oz, are excellent metabolic boosters. I must confess, I was quite surprised to see chilli peppers on the list. Apparently, the main metabolism booster in hot peppers in a substance called Capsaicin and most hot peppers contain this substance. Past experience has taught me that it's not the peppers going in that kills me, but......we'll let's not go there.
Your mission: get to the supermarket or farm fresh fruit stand right now and get fit!
Cracked Heels? Super dry Skin?
Thanks goodness we don't have to show our heels during the winter! I'm reminded of the Eddie Murphy woman where he dismissed several potential mates based on the condition of their feet. Trust me, my winter hoofs couldn't capture any Prince Charmings!
One of the world's best kept secrets (at least for us) is Surgeon's Skin Secret with 25% beeswax for extra dry skin. We've used it on heels and hands and it works wonders! Just smear it on (it's pretty heavy-duty) before getting into bed. It heals heels and repairs scaly alligator hands. It runs about $14, but all you need is a quarter size portion to do the trick. A must in our book.
