No need to pull your hair out (oh, my) or go through that panicking thing again. Here are our tips for a wonderful, relaxing holiday.....
It's late October and for most of the country, the remnants of summer or Indian Summer are quickly becoming a thing of the past. The bright, breezy colors of summer are fading too.....even my sun-kissed glow. I just love that healthy, beaming, radiant look of a summer's tan. So how do you keep the glow glowing?
We searched the web to find tips that even I can do. Since every woman needs a daily moisturizer to protect skin from drying out, why not a tinted moisturizer? Most over-the-county moisturizers are loaded with water and unpronounceable ingredients. Making homemade moisturizers gives you control over the ingredients. Tinted moisturizers match your skin tone, while still providing hydration.
Here's how to make your own:
Things You'll Need:
· 2 tbsp. cocoa butter
· 4 tbsp. jojoba
· Double boiler
· Wood spoon
· 2tbsp. Aloe Vera
· ceramic bowl
· plastic spatula
· mineral foundation
· bronzer powder (optional)
· plastic glass or jar
I was moved beyond tears the other day when I called to check on a business colleague and friend. Called her a couple of times over the past 4-5 weeks, but didn't get any response. Not like her at all.
She answered this call. Stephanie first apologized for not returning my calls and then went on to say that she had been so terribly sick....her cancer returned. She's lost all of her beautiful hair again and seemed more angry than sad. I was a mess for the rest of the day. It's unfair that good people suffer. But, Stephanie has always been a trooper. She clenches the hugest fistful of courage I've ever witnessed. This one phone call exchange lit the fire in me.
Friends, please....don't take it for granted that you're safe from anything. Don't listen to the "rules" about the appropriate age to get cancer screened. Be proactive about your health. Get a mammogram; visit your GYN regularly.
This month, I'm asking you to help us, help others. We've chosen 3 cancer organizations to donate 15% of your purchases to:
Breast Cancer Research Foundation
Ovarian Cancer Research Fund
Cancer Research Institute
How were they chosen? Our research shows that at least 80 - 90% of all donations they receive go to fund research, education and awareness. So many other organizations spend 80% on themselves and publicity and only 20% goes to "the cure" .
You'll feel better too. Our thanks for your support.
